Day Dreaming
I often day dream that I have sold everything I own with the exception of a small travel size or carry on suitcase and 1 personal item and I am traveling the world.. I wonder how many others do this? As this has been my dream since I was 16 years old and I just can't seem to let go of it I am the most free when I am away from home even just up town doing errands I feel like I have not a care in the world and then I walk into the home in which we live and I see all the things that I do love and I do want comfort but I am going crazy with the things I have so I am continuing to simplify since we have been living in what all we have is our clothes and our bed and a few personal things to maintain the happier I have been but then I see the pile in our garage which I will show you the photo and I mentioned to you in a earlier post what is most of it.
SO my future goal is that when we move nothing is coming into the house except the absolute basics and then if I truly need something and I dig it out from the pile then I will keep it other wise it is going to the give away pile and donated.
SO how many of you dream the way I do in hopes to sell everything you own? I wanna hear from you!!!

Emergency Bag
Hello all the past few days I have been working trying to redo our emergency kits and making sure our to go back packs are up to date and have all the necessary things we may need. The reason for this being as we have had a lot of FIRES in Oregon where we live and have had a lot of people we know evacuated and then with Hurricane Harvey we have seen so many inTexas displaced and left with nothing. So we have revisited the need to make sure all these things are up to date and have the essential basics in case we have to Evacuate and not wait till we are in the 1. Get Ready 2. Get Set & 3. Go!! Stages of being evacuated. The other reason being was we had stuff in our travel trailer at one point and we no longer own that as we have simplified our lives a bit.
I added a picture of a couple of our bags (we purchased from Costco and then added xtra stuff to its) to show you what we have chosen to do now. If you haven't chosen to do a Go Bag I would love to see some of you use a back pack, these bags from Costco have 3 days of emergency supplies in them including food and some water and cards Poncho and cook stove and matches and first aid kit and a few more things! I added a blanket and head lamps and flashlight and some tools, knives, gloves and toothbrush and wipes and deodorant, medicine, important papers. I also added a change of clothes.
If you have any questions please let me know if you need anything I will answer any questions you have. Just our little go packs!

Been a While
Sorry its been a while.
Lots of life has happened while I have been away. I got really sick and I am still dealing with the health issues but I am always thinking and searching simplicity and chasing after it. Trying to find ways to make my life this, it is hard with a family and now my daughter is 14 and completely the opposite of me and well she loves simple but yet loves being a girly girl with lots of clothes and well thats just her life but we are going to be moving again we have been in a 2000 square foot house to a 1200 square foot to right as of now in two bedrooms with all our stuff in the garage of my parents home which they have 1500 sq ft and let just say I am still always trying to accomplish having less some days are harder than others but I seriously am striving to be at that I could live with a travel size carry on and be completely free. However at this time I still have a family and well Husband is not on board with that while we still have a child at home. In the next few months we will be moving as we are buying our first home where we live and moving to a 1400 Sq ft home Im truly not looking forward to the space but I plan to utilize it to the best of simplicity that I can we are going to be renting it out with Airbnb so we shall see how this all works as when we move in we will be limiting what goes in and it will be decorated in a travel theme world map and globe and very rustic as to no carpet and making it very simplistic what doesn't go in the house in the first few months from the garage will be gotten rid and donated or sold.
I truly can't wait for this process to happen as just seeing our pile of stuff and wondering what we truly will need for the new house was daunting so I kept a lot of what I would have sold and trust me I did sell quite a lot a ton of furniture left our house some of the big ticket items that sold were two couches a recliner a bar and bench and barstools and our kitchen table and chairs, and some shelving honestly beside kitchen stuff and and a few furniture pieces like coffee table and shelfs and two end tables our stuff is mostly outdoor recreation things like paddle board and paddle, snowboards and the gear, river floats, volleyball net and baseball gloves and things our family enjoys doing outdoors, our jeep gear like the top and the doors and then tools my husband is a contractor so there is not a ton most are kept on his truck but a few things always stay in the garage. Then their is the daughters games and my work stuff I do Nail by trade and then a few totes of books and photos and then the paperwork from my husbands business ugh the worst part is we have to keep at least 5 years. My washer and dryer which is the one thing if I have a house I never want to part with I hate laundry mats with a purple passion.
So now as I sit here using very little of this stuff I wonder what I can really do without!!!
Now I am working on less and to each one of us our journey for less is different depending on our circumstances and we just need to figure out what that exactly is...So I am welcoming you to follow my journey on what is less to me I am hoping to continue to downsize. See you on the next Blog Post
